Drafts in progress.
Hopefully this turns into a useful record for my own use; in any case, I should be happy to share drafts with those interested.
- 1.
- I have just finished another draft on how the explanatory indispensability argument fares when there are multiple best explanations, and reasons to think such cases arise in complexity-theoretic explanations of the physical behaviour of computational systems.
- 2.
- I shall return to a rather inchoate draft trying to work out whether conceptual rôle semantics faces any meaningful threat of trivialisation (in the same way that e.g. Putnam suggests machine-functionalism does due to a sort of universal pancomputationalism).
- 3.
- I still intend to return to a draft on Malebranche’s science expérimentale de l’homme, and what exactly ‘expérimentale’ is meant to mean in this case.
- 4.
- Later, I shall return to my BPhil thesis on the use and abuse of computational/statistical learning theory in philosophy of language and linguistics (specifically in the wake of Chomsky’s poverty of the stimulus argument).
À propos.
